The Fenouillèdes are situated in the north-eastern part of our region and are at the "frontier"

between the Aude and the Pyrenees Roussillon via the Corbières. Fiefs of well-known vineyards such as the famous Maury (a naturally sweet wine drunk as an aperitif). The Fenouillèdes unite vineyards and rocky mountains.
There is also the best prehistoric museum in Europe.

NEARBY

QUERIBUS CASTLE built in the XI century. At an altitude of 720 metres it dominates the plain. It belonged to the Counts of the Fenouillèdes.

PEYREPERTUSE CASTLE at an altitude of 780 metres. This imposing fortress of the Corbières served as a refuge for the heretics who were chased by the garrisons of the King of France. The treaty of Corbeil awarded the castle to France.

LES GORGES DE GALAMUS
The gorges are 500m deep and the road winds between the cliffs and blocks of rocks.
A refreshing and pleasant visit that can be interrupted by a walk down to the Saint-Antoine hermitage (discover its little chapel and have a drink at the refreshment counter).
