THE CAPCIR, situated further North than the Cerdagne, is the coldest region of the upper plateau. The lakes such as those of Matemale, Balcère, and Camporells, as well as the forests are ideal for leisure activities and hiking. The mountains are dominated by the Péric Peak; very beautiful flora and interesting fauna complete this marvellous area.
Les Angles - Visite immanquable du Parc Animalier et domaine skiable
The first mention of this village dates back to 908. It was situated a little way from the present village, which established itself in the 12th century when its inhabitants came to find protection from the castle – nowadays in ruins. Les Angles has grown rapidly since the creation of the ski resort in 1964. It was the first one in the Pyrenees to build a snow-park (1991). There are various other snow activities as well as 55kms of downhill runs. In summer, many out-door activities are organised for all the family.
